Vs. Gigs
iUteurki Vs. Gigs : iUteurki collaborations
Growing naturally out of Gregg’s work as a producer and his belief that the nature of musical art is dynamism. iUteurki VS gigs are a point of intersection between the iUteurki band and an ever expanding list artists Gregg meets along the way.
iUteurki Vs. David Rovics
David epitomizes the voice of protest for my generation. His work, deeply focused on the plight of what the French call “la lutte pour les droits humains”, often takes the form of autobiographical essays. He sings about individual acts of heroism and sacrifice, driven by the belief that a better world is possible.
David travels the Western world, lending his energy to protest movements across our global society, and shares his music freely or through voluntary contributions. He’s a genuinely non-commercial artist, following in the footsteps of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and other greats in that tradition.
Our goal with this collaboration was to create a living document of his material, presenting his songs in a style we hope will resonate. These recordings are organic and live, produced during a 10-day recording residency at a farmhouse in Gascogne in February 2024.
iUteurki feat.
iUteurki Vs. Mansour Kassis
Mansour Kassis is a Lebanese Singer Songwriter I met when we shared a stage for the Toulouse Folk Society in April 2023.
I was immediately taken by his connection to classic folk, rock-n-roll and rhythm and blues.
When we play with him I feel like I’m hanging out with a contemporary Dion, Elvis, Pete Seeger and Dylan all at the same time.
He’s the guy with the classy suit, the perfect moves and the voice that can slay a crowd.
iUTEURKi vs. Thomas Bailey
Thomas hails traces his roots to the pioneer families who settled in Virginia, USA in the 1800’s.
Introduced to Oldtime music at a very young age, he is versed on Fiddle, Guitar, Upright Bass, Mandolin.
Tours with The Freight Hoppers (Rounder Records) and Sarah Savoy. Host of the NYC Barn Dance, and a Caller in the Old Time Rural Dance Tradition.
iUteurki Vs. Ro Halfhide
Back in 2005, I was new to Europe and just starting to tour solo in the UK and the Netherlands. Around that time I was talking with Toby Goodshank about my booking efforts, and that’s how I first heard about Ro, the founder of The Amsterdam Songwriters Guild.
We first connected on Myspace (laugh emoji)
Not long after, Ro wrote me out of the blue to say that he and his musical partner Martin de Wind could swing by on their way to see a friend in Carcassonne. The idea was that we’d hang out, co-write, and try recording something in my studio.
Dutch Raga came out of that visit.
That proved to be the beginning of a very long friendship. Over the years I have played great shows in Amsterdam thanks to Ro and he’s shared the stage with me a few times over the years down here in France with my various bands.
Here’s a clip of us playing together at a nudie village in Lot-et-Garonne: Watch on YouTube
Barbe is a particular love affair for me. Ro played it for me on that first visit, and we tried to get a version of it we liked back then, but it didn’t quite come together. When Ro suggested coming down to do a iUteurki’verse in Spring 2025 it was the first song I suggested. In fact I said “Please, can we do Menora?!?”
This time we got it. And I’m thrilled that this is the video I get to share with you for this very special iUteurki’Verse.

iUteurki vs. Corolian
I met Coriolan in Toulouse at the Folk Society’s Open Mic at the Frog and Rosbif. Anyone who’s spent time at a great songwriter’s open mic can imagine the atmosphere. A big part of why I love going to l’Open is that it feels like a time portal back to my formative days in New York City—a room buzzing with curiosity, engagement, and hope.
After Coriolan blew us all away with his set, we got to talking. He told me he was curious about stepping into the iUteurki’verse. I gave him my number, and he reached out right away. Our first session together felt just as effortless as that first meeting. Recording the track and making the video was pure joy.
