Vs. Gigs
iUteurki Vs. Gigs : iUteurki collaborations
Growing naturally out of Gregg’s work as a producer and his belief that the nature of musical art is dynamism. iUteurki VS gigs are a point of intersection between the iUteurki band and an ever expanding list artists Gregg meets along the way.
iUteurki Vs. David Rovics
The collaboration with David Rovics is particularly meaningful to me.
David epitomizes the voice of protest for my generation. His work, deeply focused on the plight of what the French call “la lutte pour les droits humains”, often takes the form of autobiographical essays. He sings about individual acts of heroism and sacrifice, driven by the belief that a better world is possible.
David travels the Western world, lending his energy to protest movements across our global society, and shares his music freely or through voluntary contributions. He’s a genuinely non-commercial artist, following in the footsteps of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and other greats in that tradition.
Our goal with this collaboration was to create a living document of his material, presenting his songs in a style we hope will resonate. These recordings are organic and live, produced during a 10-day recording residency at a farmhouse in Gascogne in February 2024.
iUteurki feat.
iUteurki Vs. Mansour Kassis
Mansour Kassis is a Lebanese Singer Songwriter I met when we shared a stage for the Toulouse Folk Society in April 2023.
I was immediately taken by his connection to classic folk, rock-n-roll and rhythm and blues.
When we play with him I feel like I’m hanging out with a contemporary Dion, Elvis, Pete Seeger and Dylan all at the same time.
He’s the guy with the classy suit, the perfect moves and the voice that can slay a crowd.
